About me

Promotional offer: For students looking for lessons in Operating Systems and System Programming (system software), 30% discount on these lessons. The offer lasts until I receive a sufficient number of recommendations on this site. If you're struggling with projects in these subjects, this is a good time to write them.

Over 10 years of active experience working in various areas of software development (from financial software to video games, more details at https://www.linkedin.com/in/profilevasoli/) should be enough to speak to my professional knowledge.

On the other hand, my experience in teaching during my studies, mostly in programming subjects (basic programming languages such as C or C++, as well as more advanced topics such as operating systems or system programming) gives me the necessary pedagogical experience for teaching. I stopped teaching when, despite the high price of my lessons, there were too many of them (where people found me through word of mouth) and I couldn't handle other things. Since I had already been professionally working in the field for some time, there was no room for such extensive additional activity. As I enjoyed that work and think I was very good at it, I want to actively engage in it again, but on a smaller scale.

Now, the areas in which I can teach others. These are primarily areas of computer science and programming. The areas I would highlight as having special experience are those I have taught before: C/C++, operating systems/system programming (university level), as well as modern backend software development practices. What I would exclude from the computer science sphere is frontend development, as I have little personal interest in this topic. As for mathematical areas, I have highlighted some that are particularly interesting to me (for probability and statistics, read probability), but I also have a generally solid knowledge of other mathematical areas.

About my teaching approach: I primarily teach people to understand and master the material, not necessarily just how to pass a specific exam. This sometimes seems too broad, but from my experience, it has shown that real knowledge only stays that way.

I have primarily focused on teaching students, as this is the time when, at least it should be, learning for later application in a job, but I am also open to teaching secondary school students if they want to expand their knowledge. I am also here for those who want to learn beyond school needs, i.e. those who work and need some specific professional knowledge.

For some areas, I have developed methodological learning methods for passing exams (Programming 1&2 at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering) or completing projects (Operating Systems 1&2, System Programming), but I would also advise students to consider the bigger picture.

What you can expect from a single booked lesson. Probably relatively little, solving one or two specific problems in already known material. So, systematic knowledge is always needed more than one lesson, even for a single subject.

A bit about me: I am someone who constantly loves to learn and acquire new knowledge. My interests range from natural sciences and mathematics to social sciences. Currently, I am fascinated by topics in philosophy, for example.

Ksenija

All recommendations, the tutor is pleasant and approachable. They made an effort to tailor explanations to my level of knowledge, gave me useful advice and instructions for completing the OS1 project, as well as additional clarifications whenever necessary.

Always in a good mood to help and create a relaxed atmosphere during lessons, so it's really nice to work with him. He knows the OS project very well and is easy to agree with. Highly recommended!
