I am Milijana Pejaković, a Serbian language teacher.

I have been in education for 18 years and during this period I have changed several schools and several "geographies": from the beautiful and bustling primary school in Podunavlje - OŠ Drugi šumadijski odred, through excellent schools in southern Banat - OŠ Dušan Jerković and ETSH Dositej Obradović, further through Belgrade and the phenomenal OŠ Svetozar Miletić, I have reached western Bačka, where in the Palančanska economic school Dr Radivoj Uvalić I teach Serbian language and rhetoric.

I fell in love with my job immediately, and I developed my method gradually. Getting to know students from different regions, getting to know many wonderful colleagues, warm neighbours, diverse towns and villages, I have forged my basic principles and ways, and it has been shown that they work. In every school I have taught, students have enjoyed Serbian language classes where we have read, written, thought, talked - learned together with joy.

As for my education, I graduated as a teacher in 2005 from the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad (average grade 9.23) where five years later I also completed my master's degree in the field of Methodology of Teaching Serbian Literature and Language; the theories I presented in my master's thesis I am still implementing with my students in practice.

In addition to teaching, every June, as part of the Novi Sad literary festival Sofa, I talk to good writers. Some of them are Goran Marković, Milena Marković, Lana Bastašić, Vitomirka Trebovac…
